Today we are going to talk about how to elevate your entryway.
In this article you will find a list of things you can do to elevate your apartment rental entryway.
I am also sharing my apartment rental entryway with you and guys I’m obsessed!! not only does it elevate this space so much it solves some of our small entryway problems we were having.
The 11 best ideas to elevate your apartment entryway
Here is a list of the best ideas to elevate your apartment.
You don’t need to incorporate all on this list but hopefully this will give you some great ideas to improve and elevate your entryway.
1. cabinet or console
This is a great way to elevate your entryway and to add some storage solutions as well.
For decorative purposes a console is great you can add decor and a mirror or art to add texture and interest to your entryway.
Tip add ottomans for seating tucked under or baskets for storage.
A cabinet is great if you need extra storage. I included a cabinet that I thrifted for $40.
It’s perfect to hold all our shoes, dog leashes, hats, and sunscreen. It also gives us a drop spot for keys and sunglasses.
I love adding decor so the top is perfect to add art, decorative pieces and fresh flowers.
2. Bench
A seating bench is great for an entryway. Go with a velvet fabric to really elevate the space and add some throw pillows with some pattern too.
This creates so much warmth in the entryway, making it so inviting for guests.
Pro you have a spot to sit and put on your shoes, but you don’t have a drop spot to put keys so keep that in mind.
If you need storage for shoes try to find a bench that opens, if you can’t find one in your price range add a basket beside.
If your space allows add a small table with a tray so you can have a decorative spot that you can place keys, and sunglasses but looks stylish as well.
3. Removalable wallpaper
Let’s say a little pray for peel-n-stick wallpaper. The best invention for renters or anyone who wants a semi- permanent option.
There are so many designs to choose from, there is a perfect wallpaper for anyones style.
Wallpaper can add colour, texture and detention to a space and looks so luxurious and it one of the best ways to elevate your apartment entry.
Something to know, not all peel-n-stick wallpaper is equal some are definitely better than others and the good ones are up there in cost.
However, if you chose a small wall space to wallpaper even some of the better more costly removable wallpaper can be affordable and work in your budget.
There are some great options from amazon, floor pops but my all time favourite removable wallpaper sources has to be spoonflower.
Here is my spoonflower wallpaper and even though it’s one of the most costly on the market its honestly the best.
All spoonflower Wallpaper is made none toxic and is high quality you can literally see all the texture and this pattern was easy to match up and I even pieced a few pieces together cause I ran out and you can even tell.
Tip Eventhough this is removable wallpaper I would suggest when removing to heat wallpaper with a hair dryer first then peel off.
This is a must if you are using some of the cost effective bands, you don’t want to take off aint when removing.

4. Mirrors
A mirror is a great way to make make your small space feel larger with its ability to reflect light gives the illusion that your space is larger than it is.
They can also be used to elevate your space, and create a focal point and some interest as well.
To maximize the Lux feel and to give your space that elevated look, I would choose a mirror that has a unique shape and I love a metal rim like a gold or silver.
Even a bronze metal with ornate details that give it a modern vintage feel.
5. Lighting
Switch out light fixture. This is a great way to elevate your apartment and an easy way to switch it out but you can take it with you when you move to use in your next place.
Another way to add lighting if you don’t have an lighting source in your entryway or just don’t want to switch out light fixtures is plug in pendant lights, wall scones but don’t hardwire them just add a chargeable bulb or puck light.
You could also add a beautiful lamp to your console, try and find something larger with a tapered shade this will really elevate your space.
Below I did pendant lights that plug in. I added a wire less light switch for amazon and plugged in the pendant lights and voila I now have a light source in my dark entryway.

6. Paint
Well, i’m sure this is a giving paint is the number one thing that can elevate a space.
It can help tie in all your decor choices, it looks clean and can really help elevate your space.
Now I know some landlords don’t want you to paint and especially if you want to paint it a fun colour so I do have a tip for you to help with that.
This goes back to the wallpaper idea you can actually purchase peel-n-stick wallpaper at home depo or amazon that’s paintable just stick removable wallpaper on the Wall and paint it voila you have a painted look without actually painting the wall.
7. velvet
Wether its a bench, ottoman, chair, curtain or pillows in your entryway incorporating velvet fabric is a great way to elevate you space.
Anywhere you can add velvet do it. It looks so expensive and there are many options out there that won’t break the bank.
8. a patterned rug
A rug in the entryway is perfect to elevate your space.
This is a great way to add colour if needed and texture.
I love a vintage inspired rug, or a patterned rug like a checkered will add so much interest to your space.
Rugs are also great for adding texture which gives a cozy inviting feeling when entering your home.

9. peel-n-stick tiles
This will really transform your space. I would go with a fun pattern tile or a checkered pattern.
peel and stick tiles combine with a fun pattern rug will literally transformed elevate your space on another level.
These tiles are pretty cost effective and relatively easy to remove when you move out.
Check out my bathroom makeover where I used floor pops checkered flooring this really elevated the bathroom and was so easy to DIY.

10. Decorative baskets
I love having baskets in my spaces.
Not only do they add texture they are practical they add a beautiful visual interest but also a storage solution too.
I would swap out the ugly shoe rack, if you have one in your entryway and use baskets to housewarming your shoes or outerwear like scarves and hats.
Even use them for pet supplies like leashes and poop bags.
Hanging these things on hooks on the wall make a small space look cluttered.
Cleaner walls just look more elevated, and leave wall space for a mirror, or art so they can be the focal point.
11. Gallery wall
Art can completely elevate your space and I love art in the entryway.
Take it to the next level and do a small gallery wall.
You can showcase your travel pictures, vintage art or just some abstract art to add some interest.
Tip if Wallpaper isn’t in your budget art is the next best thing you can do a beautiful gallery wall with frames from the dollar store and prints you can download or make on canvas for free.
