at home with leighann bath

How to keep your powder bath clean with kids, I bet this seems next to impossible but Follow these 3 easy steps and I promise your bathroom will look so much cleaner.

Let’s be honest keeping your home clean with kids can seem like an impossible task. It can literally drive us mad with the fact that they just don’t get how to keep a space tidy. I mean it’s not like we haven’t explained it to them multiple times already.

I have found over the years that sometimes just adding things that make it as easy as possible for them can really help. Which means less stress for us.

I don’t know about you but water spots all over the washroom mirror soap spilling down the bottle with a gallon of partially dried liquid soap oozing into the sink I just cleaned 5 minutes before is enough to drive a person mad.

If all this sounds about right well you are in luck I have 3 easy tips to help your bathroom stay a little tidier, and mom a little less stressed.

Here you will find all the must-have tips to keep your powder bath clean with kids, well at least most of the time.

1. Hang the towel close to the sink.

The first thing you will need is to add a hook beside the sink. Trust me on this one even if you have a towel rack or a towel on the counter they will still do the wash-and-shake method getting water spots all over the mirror, walls, and floor.

When there is a hook with a towel hanging for some reason it’s so much easier for them to reach for and it’s truly a blessing.

There are some great options on Amazon here and if you are looking for something unique I would try Etsy here.

2. Change the soap!

Ladies, it’s time to get rid of the liquid cream soap and get foam soap it will be your new best friend. Cream soap just gets pumped out and goes everywhere, crusted to the bottle and sink also I feel like they use way too much of it. I mean who needs 6 pumps of soap? ahhhhhh!

Gone are the days of me cleaning endless amounts of soap streaks out of the sink.  The foam just rinses so much better and my kid uses less so I find this a win-win.

Spending less time cleaning the powder bath is always a win!

3. Get them excited to help tidy up.

There is nothing better than getting your kids excited about something they are definitely more willing to go along with what you are telling them if they have fun doing it.

Try this make your own toilet bombs. kids love these especially when you make them in fun shapes. The recipe I use here put them in a jar it will encourage them to use them after a number two to freshen things up.

My daughter loves watching them sizzle in the toilet we do lemon or orange scents which smell amazing! I love young living oils here

Moms with boys I have an extra tip for you!

Now I know moms with boys have it rough with the peeing on the floor issues. Now I saw a blog post idea about putting toilet paper squares in the toilet and getting them to shoot at it! well, I thought this was a great idea, and goes back to what I was saying about making it fun they are definitely more willing to do it.

I don’t have a boy but I do have nephews and friends with boys I asked a friend to test it out and she said it really helped, so that’s a win for moms. Heck, I would even take it a step further and draw a circle on a square of toilet paper just like target practice lol.

I’d make some in advance and put them in a box in the bathroom. This would definitely be fun and encourage them to use better aim.

Cheers to getting cleaner powder baths with kids.

Bonus tip If you have the space add a basket and place toilet paper in it. My daughter is so good a changing the empty roll now cause she can see the full rolls in the basket. She’s also great with filing the basket back up with toilet paper too.

So now that you have these 3 easy tips to help keep your powder room clean and tidy. You can relax a bit about the bathroom, and stress a little more about the toys in the living room, so many toys.
