I'm Leighann
Want to know a little secret? I started a home styling business a few years ago when I got sick and couldn't do hair anymore too may chemicals. I love stying hair, however my love for design has taken over and I am obsessed. I have spent the past few years leaning taking courses and stying homes getting them ready to sell.
All of that has been great and I have enjoyed it so much! Then one day I came across a YouTube video by Sophia Lee she talked about blogging and how starting a blog has fuelled her design business. I thought to myself I have always wanted a blog for like at least 10 years now so I thought maybe this will work for me.
I took Sophias course on blogging, highly recommend its affordable and full of information. Now for me this process of starting a blog has not been easy lots of hiccups along the way but 8 months in I'm finally figuring it all out.
So I started this blog to help excel my design business. I would love to create products and style homes however I have fund true passion in blogging. I am not sure what the future for my business holds but my passion now is blogging I wish I knew 10 years ago how much I was going to love this, and the fact that this can be a business and grow into many other businesses as well is just so exciting.
Moral of my story and if I can give anyone some advice when starting a business, start somewhere but don't have a specific plan in place, let your passion take you where you need to go.
I am just getting started and I literally can't wait to see what this journey has in store for me. Follow along cause we are going to have so fun over here.
A Little more about me
- I was a hair stylist for 21 years and still style hair from time to time.
- I am a mom to a 9 year old daughter with special needs, she has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, she has ADHD and anxiety. Life over here is hectic and overwhelming at times but I am living proof that anymore can find time to start up a business. No excuses you can do it!
- I could literally scroll Pinterest for hours and hours.
- My guilty pleasure is listening to podcast of successful woman in the design industry. Its so motivating to hear someones story on how they started and how successful they are now it's what helps keep me going.
- I am a firm believer that you can accomplish anything in life as long as you work hard and believe you can do it.
- I never leave my house unless I have to. I could literally spend weeks in the house and be totally okay with that. That's how I came up with At home with leighann cause I'm always home lol.
- Cats are the best thing on the planet, you can try to convince me otherwise but it won't work they make life so much better.
- I am obsessed with throw pillows obsessed! one day I plan to create my own line.
