Mattress topper

This is a must!!! if you get anything on this list, get a mattress topper.

Mattress toppers are the most essential item to bring with you to college.

One the beds is not the most comfortable in a dorm room, so these mattress toppers are going to help with the comfort level.

Now this is our favourite topper, but we are all about the soft plush comfort.

If you're looking for something more firm, try a form topper

Extra soft bed sheets

These hotel like super soft sheets, are our favourite. So cozy to sleep in and they wash well too.

  • ultra soft

duvet and cover

We say skip the comforter and opt for a duvet insert and cover.

They are of better quality than comforters and offer way more warmth and comfort.

Some duvets have cooling technology as well is you are a hot sleeper.

There are our favourite affordable options

why you will love them

  • Duvets keep you warm and cool
  • easy to clean
  • micro gel doesn't bunch up like foam in comforters can.
  • Affordable
  • comes in many thicknesses and materials

Tip: for your duvet and cover size up a size, especially if your dorm room bed is a twin. Trust us, a twin comforter is just too small for a grown adult.

Up it to a double, it will keep you warmer and it will be more comfortable.

Nothing worse than rolling over in your sleep and you have no blanket cover your backside lol

If you are lucky, to have a double bed, I would size up to a queen.

As a bonus from a design standpoint, we love the look of a hanging blanket over the bed, so bigger is always better to us.

e.g. as you can see in this Pinterest picture, it looks great to have oversized bedding.

Portable shower caddy

This is great to help carry all your bathroom essentials around with you.

Why you will love it

  • It's sturdy
  • Hard plastic so you don't have to worry about it tipping over and your things spilling everywhere.
  • large enough to hold shampoo and conditioner bottles
  • bamboo handle makes it easy and comfortable to carry.
