new home office
Welcome to our bungalow in the burbs project. Today we are sharing my home office makeover. Everything in our home office was stuff we already had from our previous houses.

I will do a larger home office renovation project in the office in the future, but for now, this is just our phase one for the home office. The best part is it cost us nothing because we used things we already had.

This is what the home office looked like before.

Decorating tip shop your home first. Check in the basement. I bet you will find many things you can use in your space. Next, rearrange things from other rooms in your home and incorporate them in the space you are decorating.

We don't really have a plan for the office yet. So I thought we would just use the things we already have.

The only thing we knew we wanted is for it to have that modern vintage style.

Welcome to our home

Here is my office from our classic modern town house. We reused the desk I stained darker with Minwax oil based stain in coffee. We also reused the wall sconces from H&M home.

We used the books shelves and decor from our modern vintage entryway in our apartment. We also used the bench as well.

We used a lot of pieces from rooms in our old homes. We used the curtains and chair from our bedroom in our modern townhome.

Decorating Tip when styling your book shelves Mix colours, textures, materials, shapes and finishes. It creates more interest and gives it more of an organic vibe.

We also love adding something out of the ordinary. Like a strange trinket that you discovered while traveling. Just something unexpected, like we did here with the record player.

  • Candles

  • polished brass with brushed nickel pieces.
  • wood boxes or sculptures

When decorating your bookshelves, just remember to have fun with. If you get it to a place where it feels good to leave, you can always move things around or switch up decor pieces.
